Dwindling domestic stockpiles of refined oil products in China could prompt authorities to reduce overseas fuel shipments as domestic supply balances tighten.

Data from Chinese market research provider JLC International indicates that gasoline storage levels at state-run energy companies fell by 2.9 percent over the course of a single week, reaching their lowest point since 2022.

Middle distillates are facing similar pressure, with nationwide diesel inventories decreasing by 2.4 percent week on week to hit their weakest level in 15 months.
