Editorial standards

Every story begins with identified source material. We publish an original summary and analysis of that material, not a reproduction of it, and each article carries a visible attribution block naming the publisher and linking to the original where a link exists. We do not paraphrase a source into a claim it did not make.

We do not publish allegations, rumours or unverified claims about named companies or individuals. Where source material contains materially negative allegations, legal disputes or unresolved investigations, the item is routed to human review rather than published automatically. We never rewrite a negative story into a positive one.

Figures, quotations and named parties appear in our reporting only when they appear in verifiable source material. We do not create statistics, quotations, company statements or sources.

Editorial focus

Our coverage emphasises constructive and commercially useful developments: investment, infrastructure, contracts, capacity, technology, efficiency, appointments and market structure. This is an editorial focus, not a claim that the industry is free of difficulty.

Every article illustration is original in-house vector artwork produced for Global Freight. We do not republish third-party or stock photography, and we never present an illustration as a photograph: each one carries a caption stating that it is editorial artwork and does not depict specific real events, vessels, facilities or people. Where no suitable illustration exists for a story, a general sector illustration is used rather than an image implying detail we cannot verify.
