BP has begun natural gas production from the Fayoum-4 well located in Egypt's West Nile Delta. The startup occurred approximately two years earlier than scheduled, delivering an estimated 80 million cubic feet per day to the domestic market according to local media reports.

The supplementary gas volumes arrive as lower domestic output has required Egyptian authorities to return to large-scale imports of liquefied natural gas. The development utilized existing regional systems to accelerate startup.

Fayoum-4 was tied into BP's current West Nile Delta processing infrastructure through the Giza-Fayoum pipeline, removing the requirement to build new subsea assets. BP manages the processing facilities as operator with an 82.75% participating interest alongside partner Harbour.
