Axpo Completes Maiden LNG and Bio-LNG Bunkering Operation in Valencia
Axpo has carried out its first LNG bunkering delivery at the Port of Valencia, deploying its chartered bunker vessel Alisios to supply a container ship with a bio-LNG blend.

Energy company Axpo has completed its initial LNG bunkering operation at the Port of Valencia in Spain. The delivery was conducted on 13 October to supply marine fuel to an undisclosed container ship.
The refuelling was executed by the Alisios, an Axpo-chartered 12,500 cubic metre LNG bunker vessel that entered service after launching in Huelva earlier this year. According to the company, bio-LNG accounted for more than half of the total fuel supplied during the operation.
Daniele Corti, head of small-scale LNG at Axpo, highlighted the strategic value of the location, noting Valencia's status as Spain's top container facility and Europe's fifth-busiest container port. He indicated that the operation expands the company's operational footprint in the region.
