Danish carrier A.P. Moller – Maersk has selected British wind-propulsion specialist Anemoi Marine Technologies to supply a Rotor Sail system for an 8,700 TEU container vessel in the Maersk Lima class.
The deployment is intended to support the shipping group with operational efficiency improvements while reducing carbon emissions across its fleet.
The agreement represents a world-first application of Anemoi wind-propulsion technology on a commercial container vessel.
