Alkagesta Agrees Energy Petrol Deal in Türkiye, Adding Its First Vessels
The energy trader says its agreement to acquire the Turkish marine-fuel distributor includes eight vessels and expands its direct supply capabilities. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Alkagesta has agreed to acquire Energy Petrol, a marine-fuel distribution company in Türkiye, in a transaction the trader says has received approval from the country’s antitrust watchdog. According to Alkagesta’s acquisition announcement, the agreement includes eight marine-fuel vessels and marks its first step into vessel ownership. The financial terms have not been disclosed.
The company says the acquisition would take its worldwide oil-products storage capacity to approximately 728,000 cubic metres. Alongside that additional capacity, the vessels would give Alkagesta a more direct role in delivering marine fuel to end users, extending its activities beyond trading. These details are drawn from the company’s announcement.
Energy Petrol will continue operating independently, according to Alkagesta. That approach combines the Turkish distributor’s existing operations with the trader’s wider marine-fuel business, while retaining Energy Petrol as a separately operated company.
Alkagesta also attributes to Asad Huseynov, its managing director of investments and asset management, the view that the agreement could provide a foundation for further investment or structured partnerships in infrastructure-style assets. The announcement describes an agreed acquisition; it does not establish that the transaction has closed.
