COSCO Shipping Ports Reports Container Throughput Growth in H1 2026

COSCO SHIPPING Ports has recorded higher total and equity throughput for the first half of 2026, despite softer container momentum at Piraeus Port.

Terminal operator COSCO SHIPPING Ports Limited has announced its interim operational results for the six-month period ending 30 June 2026. The group reported headline gains across its global port portfolio over the first half of the year.

Network-wide container volumes climbed by 7.9% year on year to reach 80,157,047 TEU. Equity-based throughput also registered growth, expanding by 7.0% compared with the prior-year period to hit 24,492,008 TEU.

While the company achieved overall positive volume growth across its terminal footprint, container handling activity at Piraeus Port experienced slower performance during the interim term.
