MI and Green Marine Partner to Advance Methanol Marine Fuel Adoption
The Global Methanol Alliance and Green Marine have entered a cooperation agreement to support the safe operational adoption of methanol across the shipping sector.

The Global Methanol Alliance, operating as MI, has entered into a collaboration agreement with Green Marine to support the wider adoption of methanol as an alternative bunker fuel.
Under the partnership, the organisations plan to focus on three principal areas. These include developing maritime methanol training programmes, drafting joint policy papers, and establishing technical guidance for the industry.
The initiative responds to the growing number of methanol-capable vessels joining the commercial fleet. With more ships entering service, the alliance noted an increasing operational need for established safety protocols, specialised crew training, fuel handling standards, bunkering procedures, and emergency response planning.
