Qatari LNG Shipments to Pakistan Resume Following Supply Disruptions

Pakistan is scheduled to receive liquefied natural gas cargoes from Qatar during the current month, according to vessel-tracking information reported by Bloomberg. The initial shipment is projected to reach the country as early as Thursday.
The incoming deliveries follow a period of domestic energy strain. Supply difficulties arose after Qatar issued a force majeure declaration on export volumes following Iranian strikes that damaged the Ras Laffan facility.
Qatar previously operated as the largest supplier of liquefied natural gas to Pakistan. During the disruption, Pakistani buyers were forced to turn to spot markets and pay high premiums to secure intermittent replacement volumes.
