SIBCON 2026 Opens in Singapore: What the World's Largest Bunkering Event Will Cover
The 24th Singapore International Bunkering Conference and Exhibition runs 13-15 October at Resorts World Sentosa under the theme "Charting a Resilient Multi-Fuel Future".

Marine fuel buyers, suppliers, regulators and shipowners have arrived in Singapore for the 24th Singapore International Bunkering Conference and Exhibition (SIBCON), which runs from 13 to 15 October 2026 at Resorts World Sentosa. The biennial event is organised by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and is widely described as the largest gathering of the bunkering industry.
The 2024 edition drew more than 1,800 participants from over 60 countries. This year the MPA expects more than 2,000 maritime professionals from over 60 countries, with a programme of more than 80 speakers built around the theme "Charting a Resilient Multi-Fuel Future". Geopolitics, regulation, digitalisation and decarbonisation are the main strands, reflecting a market that now supplies several fuels at once.
The event opens on Tuesday with a pre-conference symposium on Singapore's bunkering standards. Topics include the new codes of practice for bunker sampling and LNG bunkering, the technical reference for ammonia bunkering, FuelEU compliance, the quality and safety of alternative fuels, and the use of artificial intelligence in bunker trading.
The main conference starts on Wednesday with an address from guest of honour Murali Pillai SC, Senior Minister of State at the Ministry of Law and the Ministry of Transport, followed by a keynote on energy markets in transition from Aw Kah Peng, Chairman of Shell Companies in Singapore. Panels on the first day cover geopolitics and the IMO, the fuel market outlook to 2030, the shipowner's fuel decision, conventional fuels and biofuels, fleet transition and retrofits, and digitalisation.
Thursday turns to alternative fuels and decarbonisation, with keynotes from Wu Junli, Executive Director of PetroChina International, and Kieran Gallagher, Head of Asia at Vitol.
The host port arrives in record form. Singapore sold 56.20 million mt of marine fuel in 2025, an all-time high, according to Ship & Bunker's analysis of MPA data. Companies active in that market are using the week to meet counterparts: Alkagesta's Singapore team also gathered ahead of SIBCON 2026, with Chief Executive Orkhan Rustamov joining the office for the week.
