Alkagesta has been approved to participate in the Platts Market on Close (MOC) assessment process for EMEA naphtha physical, the company said from Malta on 7 August 2026, following a review by Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights.

The MOC process is the industry-standard methodology used by Platts to assess benchmark commodity prices. Participation requires review and approval by Platts editorial, and all bids, offers and transactions submitted are subject to Platts editorial standards.

Platts considers information from credible and creditworthy market participants in its assessment processes, and says it will publish relevant information submitted by Alkagesta accordingly. S&P Global Commodity Insights confirmed the addition in a subscriber note published on 7 August 2026.

Naphtha is a key feedstock for petrochemicals production and a component of the wider petroleum products value chain in which Alkagesta trades across multiple geographies. The company describes inclusion in the EMEA naphtha physical MOC process as a reflection of the growing scale of its European naphtha trading activity.
