Netherlands-based inland shipping firm AMS Barging has formally christened its latest bunker tanker, the Felicitas, during a ceremony at Noordereiland in Rotterdam. The newly introduced vessel features diesel-electric propulsion and is engineered with methanol-ready capabilities.

The 9,000 cubic metre capacity vessel was designed by RensenDriessen Shipbuilding and outfitted by Den Breejen Shipyard. Key equipment aboard includes 12 cargo tanks, dual piping, a pair of mass flow meters, a nitrogen generator, a bunker boom, and pumping infrastructure rated at 1,800 cubic metres per hour.

With the addition of the Felicitas, the company's operational fleet now totals 17 vessels. The ship is a sister tanker to the Fortuna, which was christened by AMS Barging earlier this year.
