Shenzhen-listed Nanjing Shenghang Shipping has lined up an order for six stainless-steel chemical tankers at China Merchants Nanjing Shipyard.

Chinese vessel operator Nanjing Shenghang Shipping is advancing its fleet renewal programme through a major newbuilding commitment. The Shenzhen-listed carrier plans to spend CNY 994.8 million ($148 million) to construct six chemical and product tankers.
The planned vessels will each have a capacity of 13,500 dwt and feature stainless-steel cargo tanks. Construction for the entire series has been arranged with China Merchants Shipbuilding Industry Group Nanjing Shipyard.
Each ship in the order is priced at CNY 165.8 million ($24.7 million), inclusive of taxes. The investment will support the company's long-term fleet modernization efforts in the chemical tanker sector.
