Azane Fuel Solutions has obtained approval from the Norwegian Directorate for Civil Protection to conduct a trial bunkering involving up to 73 tonnes of ammonia for the platform supply vessel Viking Energy.

The vessel, which operates on liquefied natural gas, is currently undergoing conversion to run on ammonia as part of the Apollo-project initiative.

The Apollo-project is led by industry cluster Maritime CleanTech and receives co-funding from the European Union through its Horizon Europe programme.
