DNV Reports Rising Demand for Dedicated LNG Bunkering Vessels
Expanding adoption of LNG as a marine fuel is driving higher demand for specialized bunkering tonnage, according to DNV fleet figures.

Classification society DNV has highlighted expanding demand for specialized liquefied natural gas bunkering vessels to support the growing alternative-fuel fleet.
Current figures indicate that 900 LNG-capable merchant ships are actively trading globally, excluding the specialized LNG carrier fleet.
The operational fleet is set to expand significantly, with shipyards holding orders for an additional 650 LNG-fuelled merchant vessels.
